Southwest Patcon

Amid dire predictions of impending doom should Britain decide to vote for sovereignty, the Brits did it anyway. Why? Because they are tired of enduring what we have been enduring for several decades, perhaps centuries: a disconnected government far away dictating rules and regulations to those distant citizens without regard as to the affect on their lives or the burden on their finances.

The immigration issue has played a larger part of the Brexit than many are illuminating for self-serving reasons of one sort of another. It comes down to culture and the Brits have already endured a great deal of cultural change at the behest of the EU. Dictates from Brussels have rubbed them the wrong way and forced on Britain both a theft of their culture and currency.

Of all of the things that we are told the U.S. is unable to be perform: repeal of Obamacare; deportation of illegal aliens; a return to liberty and a respect for the Bill of Rights, Britain simply cut the ties with the European Union. One snip and let the politicians figure it out. That is an attitude often given to the brashness and boldness of the United States, but no more. Politicians have been drumming into our heads and elementary schools the fact that none of this can be done. The Brits did it and if they can, we can.

The world is flexing and contracting at an alarming rate, much faster than our government can react to, even if it wanted to, which it doesn't. There is a pervasive understanding in the government, of all things, that the people (at least the white, straight Christians) of this nation deserve to be penalized with cultural destruction. They have no understanding that they can destroy this one culture, but they will have no control over what replaces it. They think they are in control and that is probably the most dangerous thing that can happen. While they believe they can simply guide all of this toward a permanent political majority and implement all of the socialist wet dreams that have accumulated over the past century. They don't get it. No one has any idea what might rise up in place of the culture they have destroyed.

These are big things that are taking place. Things this big are guided by forces beyond anyone's control. They have their own momentum and direction. Barack Obama is a community organizer, which means he is fully capable of destruction, of implementing policies that will bring down structures and established power bases, but he does not have the ability or talent to create, to establish or develop anything. That has never been his role and he as never flourished in the building of anything. Obama operates through threats and force. It didn't work on Britain and it has only occasionally worked in the United States.

The Democrats, socialists and Marxists who might very well win this presidential election, will probably not win very many "down-ticket" seats in either the House or Senate. There are no big ideas out there to draw voters. There is a choice between a conman and a criminal, that's it. If you like your representative, you can probably keep him.

What is apparent to me, if not this community of liberty activists and 2A supporters, is that despite the burdens of leadership and the defamation that will come from standing up, it is time to do so in a much bigger way than we ever have. Patcons should be held everywhere and promoted to the 2A public out there. Yes, leadership will have to devote their time to all of the things we have been, communication, logistics, supplies, etc., but there has to be a way to provide a solid front, an action group.

I am going to be working on a Southwest Patcon to be held in October, just prior to the election. It will invite liberty activists and 2A supporters from New Mexico and Arizona, but open to any that want to come. I have not held a Patcon for many years, but as I said, times are changing and things need to change and I will be working hard to make it more than just a Patcon of a few trusted friends, but rather an opportunity to show the average supporter how much is being done, how much infrastructure is out there for them to tap into for their own defense, not only self-defense, but defense of their rights.

We are going to have to fight to survive as a group, to put up some defenses for the next time they try to take a terrorist act and use it to destroy us. We need to consolidate. Yes, local, local, local, but local within a larger framework. What I advocate are strong local groups, tied tenuously to a larger network, if even by one person familiar and trusted by two or more groups.

I have always waived off attempts of others to characterize me as a leader. I still don't see myself as such, but I do recognize that I have to step up and at least take on this task. Any assistance will be welcomed. Of course, I would like to see this effort duplicated in other areas of the country, to align these Patcons with the election. If they want to take our guns and our rights, I would like to show them what that would look like practically.

The Illogical As The Most Logical

After the Obama Administration's sponsorship of the Orlando terrorist attack and for service rendered to the enemy (ISIS) it is predictable to see where the discussion is going: to guns, not to the people who fire them; not to the people who buy them for the purpose of slaughter; not to the ideology that sanctions and promotes such slaughter; not to the anti-gay, anti-American, anti-liberty religion (violent, radical Islam ((for the dim-witted))) that has fostered two terrorist attacks within a year. No, the discussion goes intentionally toward a weapon that millions of Americans own, peacefully and legally.

Those wounded and murdered in the Orlando nightclub were unarmed. Had they been armed, one of them might have been able to stop the attack before significant loss of life. Had all of them been armed, there may not have been an attack at all, because shooters like Omar are looking for just such places where weapons are not going to be brought to bear to stop them. That is the common denominator to all of these mass shootings, it always takes place where guns are prohibited, yet it is the possession of such arms that is always called into question when such an attack takes place.

This is a classic example of the illogical being passed off as the most logical. This is the "sweet spot" of American liberalism. It is how they have managed to keep the Bible out of schools on a pretext to separation of church and state, yet allowed Muslims to pray on school grounds as a measure of diversity. Why doesn't it work in the Christian's favor as well? Because that would be logical, but they promote the illogical as the most logical.

The Obama Administration claims to be fighting (ISIS) and it is necessary to prevent domestic terror attacks by violating the Fourth Amendment in every conceivable way, yet they have not been able to stop even one of these attacks though the FBI has investigated the perpetrators at some point prior to the attack and failed to act, probably so as not to raise radical, violent Islamic extremism as the purpose, because that would be logical. Again they promote the illogical as the most logical.

But, none of this is really about what it seems. It is not about guns so much as rendering a portion of society incapable of self-defense. What portion? The Constitutionalists, the conservatives, the wide swath of middle income, flyover country, Christian people with whom the Left has issues. Why does it have issues? Because they assume, in their bigoted, stereotyping, prejudiced manner that we care if someone is gay, or if someone wants to marry someone else, or that we view people differently based on their skin tone, or their ethnicity, or whether they come from this country or another. But, the vast majority of the same people they HATE and seek to punish for supposed and imagined crimes of hatred have done nothing more than desired to be left alone. Again, hatred for people who they have accused of hatred (forget the facts, there is no interest in truth or facts or justice), is the illogical being promoted as the most logical.

What these people do care about, without hating anyone, is the safety and security of their person and their families. They care about being able to practice their religion safely and without interference from the state. For instance if they do not want to bake a cake, they don't want to be forced to. If they do not want to preside over a marriage of two men, they do not want to be forced to. But, they are not advocating that no one should bake the cake or that no one should preside over a marriage of two men. They may not want to call it a marriage due to their religious beliefs, but they do not run to the site of the wedding with a loaded AR-15 and kill the whole wedding party. That is not what a Christian does, but it is what Muslim extremists do. It is what is advocated in the Koran.

The whole nation now is being told to look at the Orlando terrorist attack as something it was not. It is being passed off as a Lone Wolf attack from someone who, had he been unable to obtain weapons would have never devised a plan to kill those people. That is not who he was, he would have killed them and maybe more had he needed to resort to a suicide bomb or some other method, a fire, perhaps. Why did he do it? That is another diversion of the left. No, no, no, it was not because he was raised by Taliban supporters, a radicalized American, a Muslim, it was because he saw an AR-15 (actually a Sig Sauer MCX, but why confuse the narrative with fact?) and said to himself "Wow, that would kill a lot of people, where are a lot of people I can kill with it?" Again, the illogical is being promoted as the most logical.

Read anything that is a grand cause of the left and you will find the same thing. Green energy, it is the most expensive, kills thousands of birds with wind turbines and solar energy arrays and ironically enough, needs to be backed up by a conventional means of producing power for when the wind doesn't blow or the sun doesn't shine. Logic would dictate that if one has to build extra back-up power for the times when green energy doesn't work, one is doing untold damage through increased carbon emissions (another fallacy of the left, but if that is the stated goal: reduced carbon emissions it makes even less sense) to build and operate both sources of energy. The illogical being promoted as the most logical.

The danger of all of these illogical conclusions of the left, it that all of us will have to pay the price for their sacred cows. It is our money that is being used to subsidize these green energy frauds; it is our freedom that is being sacrificed to turn a blind eye to violent, radical Islamic terrorists; it is our privacy that is being destroyed to satisfy the DHS, who have been unable to stop these terrorist acts, the only purpose they have for existing at all (at least that was their mandate). But, in the leftist mind, it is not the fault of government, but that government has not yet been able to fully implement their absolute destruction of the conservative. When that finally comes to pass, through social ostracization, imprisonment, denial of self-defense and the burning of the churches, the world will be as it should. Because, they are, as we all know, kind and caring and inclusive.

A Nation Adrift

America is a nation adrift, floating on a sea of change. It is a defining era. The 2016 Presidential election is a reflection of this confused and conflicted society. Terrorism, political correctness, larcenous bankers, rigged economics, runaway immigration and hopeless unemployment swirl about in a stew of discontent and distrust.
There is no institution of the past that has retained its once unquestioned credibility. Banks, with solid walls, shined floors and oak desks in the wake of the economic collapse have revealed themselves as shells of glitter surrounding nothing. Empty promises, empty vaults with the proverbial "next shoe" dangling precariously in the lobby.
There is a sense of being conspired against, but perhaps that is because those conspiracies have been exposed for what they have always been. Politicians have always lied, but not always with such unabashed glee at confounding the public desire. There is a sort of pride in themselves for having played the public for suckers. Never was this on display as with the disclosure of the lies told to conclude the Iran Nuclear deal. Equally dastardly were the lies told by Republican politicians in order to get elected in 2014.
The emergence of Donald Trump is in direct response to those lies. He embodies the backlash of the Republican voters to the great consternation of the old-guard Republican establishment. It is a comeuppance of sorts for people who are not accustomed to being challenged or defied. Worse for them is the fact that they have no clout with Trump. The Republican establishment has already spent their political capital trying to keep him from the nomination and have discovered that their perceived "capital" was as empty of value as their promises.
This election, though politically irrelevant, signals a sort of defining moment in American history. Trump has demonstrated the ability to call out the leftists for their deceptions and while he might not be expounding the virtues of liberty and the Constitutional protection of rights, no Republican politician has had the backbone to challenge the left for decades. This creates, for the first time in a long time, a division between the Republicans and the Democrats. While Trump might not be the white knight needed for the liberty/patriot community, he does put the lie on the liar's lips.
Before this sounds like an endorsement or support, politics today are a sideshow and Trump is Barnum and Bailey. I appreciate the truth he delivers to the public while he exposes the weakness of his opponents, but that is as far as it goes. He does not offer solace, hope, pride, revenge or peace.
He is a well-deserved thorn in the side of political establishments on both sides and I find that amusing.
The bigger picture shows that our society is at a crossroads and no politician is going to determine the outcome. Forces have been unleashed that cannot be recalled. Fraud is institutional across the spectrum. The dire state of the economy has been hidden by the Obama Administration with the willing aid of the media. Racial tensions have intentionally been heightened and used to silence opposition and encourage violence. Seeds like these grow, they do not die.
One man (or more) perpetrated the worst terror attack since 9/11 and it rightly demonstrated the risk of allowing unrestricted immigration from Muslim nations. The risk is far greater because the shooter was American born, because if an American born Muslim can be so radicalized, what happens when they arrive radicalized and with intent? We are one notch closer to societal meltdown and the realization of Obama's vision for America.

How Can We Lose?

Thirty years ago I suffered my first infringement of reasonable liberty. It was a little thing, it was the passage of a seat belt law, that few thought meant very much at all. To me, it was the state laying claim to my body, determining that it was their role in my life to tell me when I should put Tab A into Slot B. Now, I have studied the statistics and I have never claimed that seat belts are not good ideas, or that they don't save lives, because it is and they do, but a law claiming that the state has a greater interest in my life than I do is absurd.

It didn't take much digging to uncover the real factors involved, which were insurance company lobbyists and the statists teaming up to pass a law that instantly achieved two goals: 1) save money for the insurance companies; 2) establish a precedent that the state has the right and the role to dictate the actions of its citizens.

Since then, I have done as much as I could to educate myself on political theory and, logically, the Constitution of the United States.

Obamacare is nothing but the seat belt law writ large. So, when we go to look at Obamacare and precedent, it all comes back to the seat belt law. It was the first salvo in what I recognized as the war against individual freedom.

Along the way I encountered many like issues that were identifiable by a few key indicators:1) whatever horrible wrong that needs to be remedied with law affects a minuscule minority; 2) it seems to be in general a good idea, sort of common sense and the need for this new law is vague and confusing; 3) there is a lot of money backing the passage of the new law, though it could not be coming from the few people it would affect.

This pattern, I recognized after a while, was not about the new law at all, it was about precedent and manipulation that would first, establish legal arguments for the restriction of individual liberty and second prove methods of manipulating the masses to restrict their own liberty. From the seat belt law on, this has proved to be the methods used to pass the Patriot Act and really they didn't need much more than that to utterly destroy the concept of individual liberty except to take complete control over our lives with the passage of the Affordable Care Act (Obamacare).

The Second Amendment is the only principle of individual liberty that has been able to resist this process to any degree at all.

I am not alone in this quest for individual liberty. There are thousands, perhaps millions of like-minded individuals who have come to the same conclusion, through the same routes. I don't believe I am unique, nor special for having observed this.

Here's the only place where I might not represent the views of those millions.

Having watched the absolute destruction of the concept of individual liberty, of the Western culture, of common sense, I have come to a conclusion.

The Constitution expresses the ideals of individual liberty, the individual rights that should be secured to provide liberty, but it is absolutely incapable of protecting those rights. Those who hold them dear, with or without a constitution, provide the only means of protection. Individual rights must be defended individually and at a huge price to anyone who claims those rights and expects them to be respected.

Individual liberty can not be protected by the masses whose interest is in overcoming it and profiting from overcoming it. Sooner or later they get together to take someone's something and there is only one person left to defend it. The Constitution was written to prevent the masses from imposing their will on the individual, that is why the United States was designed as a republic rather than a democracy. But, it has failed.

An individual who does not speak the way the masses want can be sued and eventually put in prison. An individual who does not believe what the masses believe can be fined and eventually put in prison. An individual who owns something the masses want can be fined and eventually put in prison and have that property taken for the masses.

This was not the intent for the future of the United States. Several amendments speak to these issues directly, but when the Constitution got in the way of the demands of the masses it was systematically redefined.

The only path toward individual liberty is simple: those who value and truly understand the purpose and utility of liberty must impose it on the masses. We are past the ability to cajole or to appeal to the courts to defend those rights. The system is corrupt and has been turned against everything that it initially proposed.

There is no America, it has been fractionalized into powerful minorities tugging at every corner of the national fabric until it comes apart. This has been instigated by those at the highest levels of government. This is the consequence of hiring a professional fire-starter as a president and CEO. The scraps of America are being fought over by a conman and a criminal. How can we lose?
